Dave
Harley was born in Ossining, New York, before moving to London
and eventually settling in Essex. Dave's professional career
started in Spain in 1987, where he was approached by a talent
scout for Club 18-30 and asked to work as a representative
providing entertainment. He worked for two years in Portugal
and one year in Spain. After leaving Club 18-30 he travelled
back to Portugal where he worked freelance for a year headlining
an Elvis show, culminating with a performance to 2000 people
at an outdoor live concert. In 1991 Dave returned to England
and formed two bands, the first 'X-Certificate', and more
recently 'Dave Harley and The Firebirds'. Dave has also travelled
to Memphis, Tennessee and recorded the Elvis hit 'Don't' Be
Cruel' at the Memphis recording studios, the master of which
is a cherished piece of Dave Harley memorabilia.
